Dr. Sitanath Lahkar: Former Principal, Cotton College, Guwahati; Film maker; Renowned theatre personality and pioneer of the street theatre movement in Assam; Has written over 50 plays this far; Authored the first two collections of street plays in Assam and three collections of his stage plays have been published so far; An ‘A’ grade artiste (drama) of All India Radio, Guwahati; A well-known stage and film actor. He is the founder Secretary of SAMAHAR and has been shouldering this responsibility since February, 1984.
